Dr. Daniel S. Smith, DDS
Dr. Dan Smith grew up in California. He studied at Loma Linda University in Southern California where he received the Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree in 1986 with numerous clinical achievement awards. While in Dental School, Dr. Smith earned honors in Implantology and served as a school officer in clinical affairs. He volunteered to reveal and provide dental care to the underserved people in Mexico along with other places and began his career of service to others.
Dr. Smith is devoted to life-long learning. Advanced education allows him to offer his patients a superior dental experience and an unparalleled level of quality care with the use of the latest technology and advancements in dentistry. He endeavors to provide an environment where his patients are relaxed, well informed, and understand that their dental health is his top priority. He specializes in improving smiles by utilizing the latest cosmetic dentistry procedures.
He is active with the Dr. David Mathews Tacoma Implant Study Club, and the Dr. Ajey Varma Advanced Prosthetic Study Club. He is a graduate of the Kois “Creating Restorative Excellence Center”, one of country’s leading institutions of advanced dental training, where he also serves as Mentor.
His passion for dentistry is evident, as he enjoys all aspects of patent care. “With modern dental techniques and equipment we are helping patients keep their teeth for a lifetime. We focus on comprehensive care with treatment that is individualized to optimize not only dental health but overall health as well.”
Dr. Smith has lived in Puyallup since 1986. He enjoys being active in his church and children’s school. He spends his downtime cheering on his kid’s sports teams, playing golf and traveling with his family.
Dr. Gregory J. Wetterhus, DDS

Dr. Greg Wetterhus was born and raised in Puyallup. He graduated as the Valedictorian of Puyallup High School in 1983. He went to get his Bachelor of Science Degree at Washington State University. Dr. Wetterhus graduated the University of Washington School of Dentistry in 1991 with many clinical honors and awards.
Dr. Wetterhus fulfilled his dream of owning a dental practice in his hometown when he joined Dr. Smith and formed Hartland Dental Group in 1993. From there, they have worked really hard to develop a great family practice and at the same time have excelled in cosmetics and implant dentistry. Dr. Wetterhus belongs to numerous cosmetic and implant study clubs and is at the forefront of the latest advances in these specialties.

Dr. Wetterhus and his wife Kelly are both very active in the community. Dr. Wetterhus’ passion is not only dentistry, but also coaching and teaching. He taught dental assisting at Bates Voch Tech for several years and then was active on their board for many years after that. He has even written a book about clinical dental assisting.
Dr. Wetterhus has also been active in youth sports for over 17 years. He has coached baseball, basketball and football for his sons, Zach and Austin. He is currently coaching on the Puyallup Viking Elite 9th grade Boys Basketball team.
