If you feel uncomfortable interacting with strangers and friends alike because of teeth that are discolored, darkened, chipped, or unevenly spaced, we may have the perfect solution for your teeth’s imperfections. As part of our commitment to helping our patients build a smile they can be proud of, Smith & Wetterhus Dentistry offers porcelain veneers, a restorative option that can simultaneously fix your teeth’s size, shape, color, and spacing issues, restoring your confidence and quality of life.
What Are Veneers?
Veneers are thin pieces of custom-made, highly durable, tooth-shaped porcelain that adhere to the front surface of your teeth.
What Is The Dental Veneer Process?
The entire porcelain veneer process takes place over the course of, on average, two visits. On your initial visit, you will discuss with one of our specialists what you do and don’t like about your teeth and how you would like them to look. We can also use one of several different methods, such as wax “veneers” on a model of your teeth, to show you how you will look after treatment. If you’re happy with what you see, we prepare your teeth for the veneers by removing some enamel and buffing the surface.
Finally, we create a mold of your teeth and choose a color. You’ll be fitted with temporary veneers while you wait for your permanent ones to be made. Once they’re ready, you’ll come in for your final visit to have them bonded to your existing teeth, perfecting your smile.
How Long Do Porcelain Veneers Last?
Porcelain veneers are incredibly durable and can last up to 20 years or more if cared for properly. Before the end of your last visit, we educate you on how to best care for your beautiful, new smile so you can feel more confident than ever before.
